Home decorating games and applications have always been
fascinating for not just female users but anybody who has a knack for
well-decorated houses and offices. There have been many such computer-based
games and programs in the last decade for the simulation of home decoration.
Some were basic level, some were 3D based. But as the technology became
advanced, so did the simulations of every kind.
In this time when VR and AR are popular, the applications
are based on this technology. There are many decorating apps available but when
the world famous IKEA launches an application, you just can’t a better option
than this.
We all love the furniture, decoration and household items
sold at IKEA. And if get to use their products to decorate in order to get the
feel of how our space will look afterward, then what more can one ask for!
What are the features of the IKEA AR
app?
·
IKEA AR app has been developed using the new iOS
11 AR kit. In fact, it is the most anticipated app made using this kit.
- · You need to have iOS 11 to use this but the use of iPhone 8 or X is not a compulsion.
- · The app uses your phone’s camera to scan your room and then lets you put the IKEA furniture and decorations around it to give you the real feeling.
- · You can browse the IKEA place to select the furniture items; you can place them anywhere in the room. You can move it around the room changing its position, to near and far.
- · You can also see the setting you did from different angles to know how it looks.
- · The best feature is that you can get a 360 – view of an item that you place. You can even get underneath tables and behind items by placing your phone at such positions.
- · The app is simply categorized so you can browse through approximately 2000 products that are listed in the app. A tap on the item name will open the product listed on the website.
Even if you don’t want to buy anything from IKEA or
redecorate your space, you should still try and play around with the app as it
is super fun. I on the other hand like to decorate spaces frequently and love
IKEA, so I am very excited to use this new app.
